The Anti-SSA (Ro) test is a blood test used to detect antibodies directed against the SSA (Ro) antigen. These antibodies are commonly associated with autoimmune disorders, especially Sjögren’s syndrome and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The test helps in diagnosing autoimmune diseases, evaluating patients with dry eyes, dry mouth, joint pain, skin rashes, or unexplained fatigue. Anti-SSA antibodies may also be present in some pregnant women and are linked to neonatal lupus and congenital heart block in newborns.
