Also Known As:
Ultrasound of Thyroid Gland
A Ultrasound (USG) of the Neck and Thyroid is a non-invasive imaging procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to evaluate the structure and size of the thyroid gland and surrounding neck tissues. This test helps in detecting thyroid nodules, cysts, enlargement (goiter), inflammation, or other abnormalities. It can also assess the lymph nodes in the neck.
The procedure is safe, painless, and does not involve radiation. It provides real-time images to help in diagnosis, monitoring of known thyroid conditions, and guiding fine-needle aspiration (FNA) if required.
