An MRI Brain scan is a non-invasive imaging test that uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to produce detailed images of the brain and its structures. This test helps doctors evaluate the brain for abnormalities such as tumors, strokes, infections, inflammation, developmental anomalies, bleeding, or other neurological conditions.
The procedure is painless and does not use ionizing radiation (unlike X-rays or CT scans). Patients are typically asked to lie still inside a cylindrical scanner while images are taken. In some cases, a contrast agent may be injected to enhance the visibility of certain tissues or blood vessels.
