Breast ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging examination that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of the breast tissue. It helps evaluate breast lumps, pain, swelling, nipple discharge, cysts, and other abnormalities detected during physical examination or mammography. The procedure does not use radiation and is commonly used to distinguish between fluid-filled cysts and solid masses, as well as to assess dense breast tissue.
