It helps evaluate the size, structure, and condition of organs including the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, urinary bladder, and major abdominal blood vessels. The test is commonly used to investigate abdominal pain, swelling, kidney stones, gallstones, urinary problems, infections, cysts, tumors, and other abdominal conditions. It is painless, does not use radiation, and is generally completed within 15β30 minutes.
