BCL-2 is an anti-apoptotic protein assessed by flow cytometry as an important marker in B-cell lymphomas, particularly follicular lymphoma. Overexpression of BCL-2 is commonly associated with the characteristic t(14;18) translocation, which leads to prolonged cell survival and is a key diagnostic feature of follicular lymphoma.
