This test measures the expression of ZAP-70, a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase, in B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL) cells using flow cytometry. ZAP-70 is a prognostic marker that correlates with disease aggressiveness: higher expression is associated with more rapid disease progression and shorter treatment-free survival, whereas lower or absent expression indicates a more indolent course.
