The Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) Quantitative PCR test is a molecular diagnostic assay used to detect and measure the amount of EBV DNA present in a clinical specimen, most commonly blood (plasma or whole blood). Unlike qualitative PCR, which only reports presence or absence, this test provides a viral load value, indicating how much virus is circulating in the body.
