Also Known As:
EAR SWAB (AEROBIC) -12 DRUGS - C/S
This is a laboratory test performed on a sample taken from the ear using a sterile swab. The sample is cultured under aerobic conditions (presence of oxygen) to detect and identify bacteria causing infection in the ear.
After the bacteria are grown and identified, an antibiotic sensitivity test (12 drugs panel) is done. This checks how effective different antibiotics are against the bacteria found, helping the doctor choose the most appropriate treatment.
