The Insulin Antibodies test detects antibodies directed against insulin in the blood. It is used to help diagnose autoimmune causes of insulin resistance, differentiate types of diabetes (especially Type 1 diabetes), and evaluate patients who have an abnormal response to insulin therapy. The presence of insulin antibodies may interfere with insulin action and blood glucose control.
