The Clostridium difficile toxin A and B stool test is a laboratory test used to detect toxins produced by the bacterium Clostridioides difficile infection (formerly Clostridium difficile, often called C. diff). These toxins are responsible for causing inflammation of the colon, leading to antibiotic-associated diarrhea and colitis.
