The Anti-Nuclear Antibody (ANA) or Anti-Nuclear Factor (ANF) test is an immunoassay used to detect autoantibodies that target components of the cell nucleus. These autoantibodies are commonly present in autoimmune disorders, particularly systemic autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), scleroderma, Sjögren’s syndrome, and mixed connective tissue disease.
