It is mainly used to help diagnose and monitor Wilson’s disease, nutritional deficiencies, or copper toxicity. Abnormal copper levels may also be associated with liver disorders, kidney disease, and certain inflammatory conditions.

Avoid fish (sea/fresh water) 3 days prior to sample collection. If Gadolium MRI Iodine or barium contrast has been administered , specimen should not be collected for 96hrs.
