The TB Expert test is a rapid molecular diagnostic test used to detect the presence of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB), the bacteria that cause Tuberculosis, and to determine whether the bacteria are resistant to the antibiotic Rifampicin.
This test uses PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) technology to identify the genetic material (DNA) of the tuberculosis bacteria directly from the patient’s sample.
