Chromosome analysis in females (also called karyotyping) is a laboratory test used to evaluate the number and structure of chromosomes in a female’s cells. The test helps detect chromosomal abnormalities that may cause infertility, menstrual disorders, developmental delay, congenital defects, or recurrent pregnancy loss.
