The Aldolase Test measures the level of the enzyme aldolase in the blood, which is involved in energy production within muscle cells. This test is used to help detect and monitor muscle damage, muscle diseases (such as muscular dystrophy or inflammatory myopathies), and certain liver disorders. Elevated aldolase levels may indicate muscle injury or disease.
