The Bence Jones Protein Test detects abnormal light-chain proteins in the urine, which are produced by certain plasma cells. This test is mainly used to help diagnose and monitor multiple myeloma and other plasma cell disorders. The presence of Bence Jones proteins may indicate bone marrow disease or kidney involvement.
