IGRA (QuantiFERON-TB Gold) Test
The IGRA test, commonly known as QuantiFERON-TB Gold, is a blood test used to detect latent or active tuberculosis (TB) infection. Unlike the traditional tuberculin skin test (TST), this test measures the immune system’s response to TB-specific proteins in the blood. It is highly specific, does not cross-react with the BCG vaccine, and requires only one patient visit.
