The Anti-HEV IgG test is a serological assay used to detect immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies against the Hepatitis E virus in human serum or plasma. The presence of Anti-HEV IgG indicates past exposure or infection with HEV and suggests the development of immunity. This test is useful for epidemiological studies, assessing population exposure, and distinguishing past infection from recent or acute infection (which is usually indicated by Anti-HEV IgM).
