This test is mainly used to identify past dengue infection or to help distinguish between primary and secondary dengue infections. It works on the principle of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), where dengue antigens are bound to a plate and react with IgG antibodies present in the patient’s serum. A color change indicates a positive reaction.
