ANTI PHOSPHOLIPID ANTIBODY IGM
The Anti-Phospholipid Antibody IgM (APA-IgM) test measures the presence of IgM class antibodies directed against phospholipids in the blood. Phospholipids are essential components of cell membranes, and antibodies targeting them can interfere with normal blood clotting processes. This test is commonly used to help diagnose Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS), an autoimmune disorder that increases the risk of blood clots (thrombosis), recurrent miscarriages, and other pregnancy-related complications. The IgM isotype is one of several types of antiphospholipid antibodies, alongside IgG and IgA, and may indicate an early or ongoing immune response.
